Writing to Your Child:

The best way to support and build a relationship with your child is to exchange letters with each other. This section will give you helpful tips and important information about communicating with your sponsored child.

What to Tell the Child About Yourself

Learning about you and your family is exciting.  Simple one-page letters are perfect.

Please consider the child’s environment and culture when deciding what to include in your letters. These children have very few possessions, so it’s best not to write about material items you own. Rather, share about your person Christian mission and gift(s), family members, your brothers and sisters in Christ, things that are important to you and Jesus. Children love to hear about how you glorify God in your daily life. You child will relate to you as you talk to them with child-like faith and simplicity. The spiritual bond one makes when they connect with a child is a bond  that will last forever. All the glory to HIM!

sponsored questions g,fc for ChildrenQuestions to Ask Your Sponsored Child

In order for you to get to know your child you can start with simple questions. Ask them about their favorite bible characters, foods, activities, colors, and school subjects. You can even ask about about their family and friends in order to really connect with your child and learn their amazing story.

In addition, discovering a new part of the world through the mind of a child can be a lot of fun for the whole family. Find out about their country, what type of community they live in and what are some of the culture aspects of their region. You can ask what their favorite bible story is and depending on their age, ask them their favorite bible verse, etc.

Remember, try to keep the questions simple and to the point but ask as many you like. The more questions you ask the better you will get to know your child.

By asking questions about their life, it makes them feel special and loved. They discover that someone far away really cares about them.

 Pray for Your Sponsored Child

Praying for your sponsored child, his or her family, and the community are a vital link to the sponsorship process. Through prayer we can accomplish anything as ALL things are possible through God (Matthew 19:26). Pray for God’s protection and blessings for your child. You can also pray that he or she will experience God’s love, be healthy, and do well in school. And finally, please pray for the missionaries on the mission field to continue to preach the whole council of God as HIS world never comes back void (Isaiah 55:11). It is important to us that the children, along with their families and communities, understand that we are compelled by our faith in Jesus to serve them and that all the glory belongs to God. As your relationship grows with your child, please begin to pray for more specific needs. We always seek prayers over this ministry and the volunteers that lead it. That we emulate a Christ-like attitude, honor God and act in a manner that is pleasing to him.Thank you and God bless you for your obedience.
